Oil Pan ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Drain the oil.
2. Remove the cross under exhaust pipe.
3. Remove the oil pan.
4. Clean sealer material from the block and oil pan assembly.
5. Remove the engine rear cover.
6. Remove the cross under exhaust pipe brace.
7. Remove the oil pan bolts, and oil pan.
8. Clean sealer material from the block and oil pan assembly.
Installation Procedure
1. Clean the oil pan and engine block sealing surfaces.
2. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346240 (Canadian P/N 10953493) or equivalent evenly to the oil pan mating surface of the engine block.
3. Install the oil pan to the engine.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the oil pan bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts, a first pass to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten the bolts, a second pass to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
5. Install the rear engine cover.
6. Install the cross under exhaust pipe brace.
7. Install the crossunder exhaust pipe.
8. Refill the engine with oil and adjust the oil level.
9. Start the vehicle and inspect for oil leaks.
