Instrument Panel Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement

INSTRUMENT PANEL ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn the ignition OFF.

IMPORTANT: Record all preset radio stations.

2. Remove the screws from the battery cooling box. Remove the battery cover.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
5. Remove the console.




6. Remove the nut holding the following fuse block connectors to the back of the I/P fuse block (4):
- The body 68-way connector (1)
- The I/P 68-way connector (2)
- The I/P 24-way connector (3)




7. Remove the bolt holding the fuse block into place.
8. Remove the ground wire (1).
9. Remove the fuse block.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the fuse block and attach the ground wire (1) and attach the bolt.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Note in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




2. Connect the harness connectors to the back of the I/P fuse block (4).

Tighten the connectors to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

3. Install the console.
4. Connect the positive battery cable.

Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

5. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten the bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

6. Install the battery cooling box cover and install the screws.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

7. Set the radio stations to the preset selections.
