3rd Clutch Shaft, 3rd Drive Gear Axial Clearance Inspection





1. Set the probe end of the dial indicator (1) on the 3rd drive gear (803) as shown and zero the dial.





2. Rotate the 3rd drive gear in order to measure the 3rd gear axial clearance in at least 3 different locations. Use an average of the 3 measurements as the clearance.
- Specification: The 3rd gear axial clearance is between 0.005-0.045 mm (0.0002-0.0018 inch)
3. If the measurement is not within the specification, remove the selective 53 mm 3rd clutch shaft assembly 3rd gear clearance splined washer (800) and select a NEW washer.
4. Install a NEW 53 mm 3rd clutch shaft assembly 3rd gear clearance splined washer (800) and recheck the axial for proper clearance.
