Regulator Valve Body - Assembly





1. Coat all parts with automatic transmission fluid during assembly.
2. Install a NEW 31 mm x 2.7mm reverse shift fork outer O-ring seal (429) in the outer groove of the reverse shift fork (428).
3. Install the reverse shift fork (428) into the regulator body with shift fork (430) until it locks into the spring-loaded retainer ball located in the regulator body casting.






Caution: Some valves are under pressure. Cover the bores while removing the retainers and plugs or personal injury could result.

4. Install a NEW 21.2mm x 2.4mm 3rd clutch accumulator piston outer O-ring seal (421) in the outer groove of the 3rd clutch accumulator piston (420).
5. Install the 3rd clutch accumulator piston (420) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
6. Install the 3rd clutch accumulator piston return spring (419) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
7. Install the 3rd clutch accumulator piston bore cover (418) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

8. Install 2 M6 x 1.0mm x 30mm 3rd clutch accumulator piston bore cover flanged bolt/screws (417) into the regulator body with shift fork (430) and tighten.
- Tighten the 3rd clutch accumulator piston bore cover flanged bolt/screws to 12 Nm (1106 inch lbs.)





9. Install the regulator valve (415) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
10. Install the regulator valve inner spring (410) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
11. Install the regulator valve outer spring (409) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
12. Install the regulator valve stator reaction spring (408) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).






Caution: Valve springs can be tightly compressed. Use care when removing retainers and plugs. Personal injury could result.

13. Align the slot in the regulator / torque arm spring cap (407) with the stopper bolt hole in the casting of the regulator body with shift fork (430). Press the spring cap into the regulator body.
14. Install the regulator spring cap, guide / stopper M6 x 11.0mm x 30mm bolt/screw (416) and tighten.
- Tighten the regulator spring cap, guide / stopper bolt/screw to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.)





15. Install the TCC lock-up control valve (423) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
16. Install the TCC lock-up control valve 49.2mm return spring (424) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
17. Install the TCC lock-up control valve 15mm spacer / sleeve (425) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
18. Install the 15mm bore plug (426) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
19. Install the bore plug retainer clip (427) into the regulator body with shift fork (430).
