89. Front Differential Bearing Race Replacement
Torque Converter Housing Front Differential Bearing Race Replacement- Tools Required
- DT 46415 Driver, 72mm x 75mm
- DT 46428 Driver
- DT 46417 Driver, 45mm x 63mm x 78mm
- EN 46342 Driver Handle
Removal
- Replace the tapered roller bearing with a NEW one whenever the race is replaced.
- Do not use selective shim(s) on the torque converter housing side.
- Adjust preload after replacing the tapered roller bearing and race.
Using the special tools, remove the front differential tapered front roller bearing race (901) and (900) from the torque converter housing (150).
Installation
1. Coat all parts with automatic transmission fluid during installation.
2. Install the front differential front bearing race spacer (900) into the torque converter housing (150).
3. Install the front differential tapered front roller bearing 80mm race (901) into the torque converter housing (150).
4. Using the 78mm side of EN 46342 (1) and DT 46428 (2), install the 80mm front differential tapered front roller bearing race (901) securely into the housing so there is no clearance between the front differential tapered front roller bearing race (901), the front differential front bearing race spacer (900), or the torque converter housing (150).
