Mainshaft Retainer Locknut Removal

- Tools Required
- DT 46434 Mainshaft Socket
- DT 46435 Mainshaft Socket Handle
- DT 46238 Holding Fixture





1. Install DT46435 (2) through the hole in DT 46434 (1).
2. Install DT 46434 (1) onto the mainshaft splines and at the same time, secure DT 46435 (2) into the lock hole in DT 46238 (3) as shown.
3. Apply a slight torque on the mainshaft locknut (110) in order to secure the tools in place on the mainshaft (641).






Notice: Ensure that all the metal particles are collected in order to prevent internal damage to the transaxle or bearings.

4. Using a sharp chisel (2) and taking care not to damage the threads on the mainshaft (641), remove the locktab (1) from the mainshaft retainer locknut (110).





5. Remove the mainshaft retainer locknut (110) from the mainshaft (641).
6. Carefully pry the splined lock washer (109) from the mainshaft (641). Do not discard the nut or the lock washer.
7. Remove the DT 46434 and DT 46435 from the transaxle.
