Sun Shade: Service and Repair



SUNROOF SUNSHADE PANEL REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Operate the sunroof to the 1/4 open position.
2. Remove the 4 screws from the sunroof garnish molding.
3. Close the sunroof and put in the vent position.
4. Remove the sunroof garnish molding by releasing the sides and the lower molding down into the passenger compartment.
5. Remove the sunroof window.




6. Remove the water channel screws.




7. Slide the sunshade forward.
8. Remove the sunshade from the above vehicle by pressing the sunshade guide clips.




9. If the sunshade clips are to be replaced, remove the sunshade guide clips by using a small screwdriver to bend the retaining tangs up.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. If the sunshade guide clips were replaced, install the sunshade guide clips by pressing the clips onto the sunshade where the old clips were located.




2. Install the sunshade from above the vehicle by installing the 2 sunshade guide clips.




3. Slightly tilting one side of the sunshade more forward than the other side, install the remaining 2 guide clips by pressing the guide clip and pushing into the channel. This will help to engage the clips into the channel.




4. Install the water channel screws. Tighten the driver side screw first and the passenger side screw in the second slot.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the water channel screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

5. Install the sunroof window.




6. Install the sunroof garnish molding by pressing the sides to the sunroof assembly.
7. Operate the sunroof to the 1/4 open position.
8. Install the 4 screws to the sunroof garnish molding.

Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
