Cooling Fan Replacement - Electric (Pusher Fan)

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the pusher fan electrical connector.
3. Remove the pusher fan harness from the puller fan shroud tabs. Push the harness clear of the radiator end tank.
4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





5. Remove the bolts which retain the pusher fan to the condenser.





6. Remove the lower fan shroud by pulling the shroud forward and then down.





7. If the pusher fan is being replaced, remove the finger guard by depressing the tabs at the 4 locations.

Installation Procedure





1. If the pusher fan is being replaced, snap the finger guard into place at the 4 tabs on the pusher fan.





Notice: Position pusher fan electrical harness in shroud indentation to prevent harness damage.

2. Slide the upper pusher fan shroud under the retaining tabs located at the upper edge of the condenser.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Rotate the lower fan shroud onto the condenser and install the retaining bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).
4. Route the pusher fan electrical harness around the outside of the radiator end tank, below the upper radiator hose.
5. Lower the vehicle.





6. Install the pusher fan harness into the mounting tabs on the puller fan shroud.
7. Connect the pusher fan electrical connector.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
