Muffler Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.





2. Remove the clamp attaching the muffler to the exhaust resonator pipe.





3. Slide the muffler off of the exhaust resonator pipe.
4. Remove the muffler isolators.
5. Remove the muffler from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the muffler assembly into the vehicle and install the isolators.
2. Slide the muffler onto the exhaust resonator pipe and install the clamp.
3. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
4. Check the entire exhaust system for leaks.
