Driven Pulley: Service and Repair

Variable Driven Cover Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Install the engine support fixture.
2. Remove the transmission mount to the transmission bolts.
3. Remove the variable driven cover bolts.





4. Remove the variable driven cover from the transmission.
5. Remove the outer variable driven cover seal from the transmission and discard.
6. Remove the variable driven cover seals and discard.





7. Inspect the variable driven cover and cover seal for damage and replace as necessary.

Installation Procedure





1. Install two new variable driven cover seals.
2. Install a new outer variable driven cover seal.

3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the variable driven cover to the transmission.
^ Tighten the variable driven cover bolts to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
4. Install the transmission mount to the transmission bolts.
5. Remove the engine support fixture.



Variable Drive Cover Replacement
Removal Procedure





1. Remove the bolts from the drive pulley cover.
2. Remove the drive pulley cover.
3. Remove the variable drive pulley opening cover seal, outer, and discard.
4. Remove the variable drive pulley opening cover seal and discard.

Installation Procedure





1. Inspect the case cover seal on the drive pulley cover for damage. Replace if necessary.





2. Install a new variable drive pulley opening cover seal.
3. Install a new variable drive pulley opening cover seal, outer.

4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the drive pulley cover and bolts to the case cover assembly.
^ Tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
