Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure

BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECTION AND CONNECTION

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution.




1. Record all presets and theft codes from the radio.
2. Turn off all the lamps and accessories.
3. Turn the ignition OFF.
4. Loosen the negative battery cable (2) nut.
5. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the negative battery cable to the battery.

IMPORTANT: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery terminal bolt flange and the battery cable end.

2. Tighten the negative battery cable (2) nut.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

3. Reprogram the radio presets. Refer to Radio Setup.
4. Re-initialize the power sliding doors. Refer to Actuator Control Module - Power Sliding Door (PSD) Programming and Setup.
