Promotional accessory packages are frequently offered by local marketing groups (LMG). When the mass of the specified components in the promotion, less the mass of components removed from the vehicle, create a net addition of weight to the vehicle, the cargo carrying capacity of the vehicle is reduced. To provide notice to the customer, a new supplemental label should be affixed to the vehicle to identify this change to the occupant/cargo capacity.
The label should be filled out with the mass data provided in the specific LMG promotional package literature. This label should then be affixed within 25 mm (1 in) of the existing Tire and Loading Information label, located on the driver's side center pillar (B pillar). Be sure that the surface is clean and dry. The surface temperature should not be less than 21°C (65°F). The clear protective film supplied with the label should then be placed directly over the supplemental label.
