Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure






Caution: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.


1. Raise and support the hood.
2. Remove the hood hinge covers.
3. Using a grease pencil, mark the position of the hood hinge.
4. With an assistant to support the hood, remove the hinge bolts and the hinge.



Installation Procedure





1. With an assistant, position the hood hinge to the alignment marks on the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. Install the hinge to hood bolts.

Tighten the hinge to hood bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Slowly lower the hood.
4. Inspect the hood alignment. Align the hood if necessary. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
5. Install the hood hinge covers.
