Cylinder Head Bolt
Inspect the cylinder head bolts and identify the type of bolt for proper tightening.
* The first design bolts (1) have a 6 point hex head.
* The second design bolts (2) have a 12 point head.
^ Inspect the second design 12 point cylinder head bolts, if applicable, to determine if they can be used again. Measure the bolt diameter at locations 45 mm (1.8 in) (b) and 50 mm (2.0 in) (a) from the end of the bolt. If the bolt diameter is less than 10.6 mm (0.42 in) at either location, the bolt needs to be replaced.
