Transmission Fluid Pressure Manual Valve Position Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the transmission side cover.
2. Remove the six bolts from the transmission fluid pressure (TFP) switch assembly.
3. Remove the TFP switch assembly from the control valve body assembly. The 4 pressure switch O-rings are reusable and should remain with the TFP switch assembly.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the TFP switch assembly to the control valve body assembly. The 4 pressure switch O-rings are reusable and should remain with the TFP switch assembly.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the six bolts to the TFP switch assembly.

Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).

3. Install the transmission side cover.

Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, The ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

4. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions.
