Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the oil level indicator tube.
2. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor.




3. Remove the positive battery cable nut (4) from the starter solenoid.
4. Remove the positive battery cable (1) from the starter solenoid.




5. Remove the CKP sensor bolt.
6. Remove the CKP sensor.

Installation Procedure




1. Lubricate the CKP sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the CKP sensor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the CKP sensor bolt.

Tighten the sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).






Important: Ensure that the engine harness terminal (4) is still installed on the starter solenoid.

4. Install the positive battery cable (1) to the starter solenoid.
5. Install the positive battery cable nut (4) to the starter solenoid.

Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




6. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the CKP sensor.
7. Install the oil level indicator tube.
