Transmission Rear Mount Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.




2. Disconnect the stabilizer link from the stabilizer shaft.




3. Remove the lower intermediate steering shaft pinch bolt. Discard the bolt.
4. Disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear.




5. Disconnect the left outer tie rod from the steering knuckle.




6. Remove the steering gear mounting bolts.
7. Secure the steering gear upward for clearance.




8. Remove the rear transmission mount.




9. If equipped with FWD, remove the rear transmission mount bracket to transmission bolts.




10. If equipped with AWD, remove the rear transmission bracket to power takeoff bolts.
11. Remove the rear transmission mount bracket.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

1. If equipped with FWD, install the transmission mount bracket to the transmission.

Tighten the bracket to transmission bolts to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).




2. If equipped with AWD, install the transmission mount bracket to the power takeoff.

Tighten the bracket to power takeoff bolts to 110 N.m (81 lb ft).




3. Install the rear transmission mount.




4. Lower the steering gear in to the steering gear mounts.
5. Hand start both steering gear to frame bolts.
6. Tighten the steering gear to frame bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 110 N.m (81 lb ft).




7. Install the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear.
8. Install a new intermediate steering shaft pinch bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).




9. Connect the stabilizer link to the stabilizer shaft.

Tighten the nut to 65 N.m (48 lb ft).




10. Install the left outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.
11. Lower the vehicle.
