Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Exhaust

Removal Procedure





1. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the exhaust camshaft position (CMP) sensor.




2. Remove the exhaust CMP sensor bolt. (Intake CMP shown, exhaust CMP similar).
3. Remove the exhaust CMP sensor.



Installation Procedure






Important: Inspect the exhaust CMP sensor for damage, replace as necessary.


1. Lubricate the exhaust CMP sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
2. Install the exhaust CMP sensor. (Intake CMP shown, exhaust CMP similar).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the exhaust CMP sensor bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





4. Connect engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the exhaust CMP sensor.
