Removal








BRAKE: REAR BRAKE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTE: Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

3. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

4. LOOSEN WIRE ADJUSTING NUT
(a) Completely release the parking brake lever.






(b) Loosen the lock nut and adjusting nut to completely release the parking brake cable.
5. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER

6. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the bolt and separate the cable bracket.






(b) Disconnect the cable end from the rear disc brake cylinder operation lever.






(c) Insert an offset wrench (14 mm) at the base of the parking brake cable as shown in the illustration to disengage the clip. Pull out the parking brake cable from the rear disc brake cylinder.






7. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE
(a) Remove the union bolt and gasket and separate the flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder.






8. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
(a) Hold the guide pin with a spanner, remove the 2 bolts and remove the disc brake cylinder.






9. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD
(a) Remove the 2 brake pads from the disc brake cylinder mounting.
10. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI SQUEAL SHIM
(a) Remove the 4 anti squeal shims from each brake pad.






11. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE
(a) Remove the 2 pad support plates from the disc brake cylinder mounting.
NOTE: Each pad support plate has a differential shape. Be sure to put an identification mark on each pad support plate so that they can be installed to their original position.





12. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD GUIDE PIN
(a) Remove the 2 guide pins from the disc brake cylinder mounting.






13. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT
(a) Remove the 2 dust boots from the disc brake cylinder mounting.






14. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the disc brake cylinder mounting from the axle beam.






15. REMOVE REAR DISC
(a) Place matchmarks on the disc and axle hub and remove the disc.
