AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: Recirculation Damper Servo Motor Circuit

Recirculation Damper Servo Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The recirculation damper servo motor and No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) are powered through the HTR-IG fuse. Operating No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) drives the recirculation damper servo motor to switch between "FRESH" and "RECIRCULATION".

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSE (HTR-IG)

(a) Remove the HTR-IG fuse from the main body ECU.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO MOTOR

(a) Remove the recirculation damper servo motor.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the terminals and check that the recirculation damper servo motor operates.
OK:

(c) Reinstall the recirculation damper servo motor.
NG -- REPLACE RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO MOTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL (AIR INLET CONTROL SWITCH)

(a) Remove the No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch).
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

(c) Check that the indicator light comes on.
(1) Turn the No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) to LOCK.
OK:

(d) Reinstall the No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch).
NG -- REPLACE NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL (AIR INLET CONTROL SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO MOTOR - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the C38 Recirculation damper servo motor connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:

(c) Reconnect the Recirculation damper servo motor connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL (AIR INLET CONTROL SWITCH) - BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the C39 No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:

(c) Reconnect the No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1HEATER CONTROL (AIR INLET CONTROL SWITCH) - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the C39 No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

(c) Reconnect the No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 HEATER CONTROL - RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO MOTOR)

(a) Disconnect the C39 No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) connector.
(b) Disconnect the C38 Recirculation damper servo motor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

(d) Reconnect the No. 1 heater control (air inlet control switch) connector.
(e) Reconnect the Recirculation damper servo motor connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
