Rear Axle Hub








AXLE: REAR AXLE HUB: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. LOOSEN WIRE ADJUSTING NUT Removal

4. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER

5. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY Removal

6. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE REAR DISC Removal

8. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS






(a) Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the axle hub.
Maximum:
0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)
NOTE: Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.
HINT: If the looseness exceeds the maximum, replace the axle hub assembly.

9. INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT






(a) Using a dial indicator, check for runout on the surface of the axle hub outside the hub bolt.
Maximum:
0.07 mm (0.0028 in.)
NOTE: Ensure that the dial indicator is set perpendicular to the measurement surface.
HINT: If the runout exceeds the maximum, replace the axle hub assembly.

11. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY Installation

12. INSTALL NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY Installation

13. INSTALL REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER

14. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL Adjustments

15. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL Adjustments

16. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

17. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
