DESCRIPTION
The main body ECU receives a door open/closed signal from each door courtesy switch.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.
Main Body
OK:
Normal conditions listed above are displayed.
NG -- INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Interior Lighting System
2. INSPECT DOOR COURTESY SWITCH
(a) Inspect the front door courtesy light switch assemblies Testing and Inspection, back door lock assembly Testing and Inspection.
OK:
Door courtesy switches are normal.
Result
B -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
C -- REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY Removal
A -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect G1 and G2 front door courtesy light switch assembly connectors.
(b) Disconnect the J3 back door lock assembly connector.
(c) Disconnect the 3E instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
(d) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
Front RH Side
Front LH Side
Back Door
(e) Reconnect the instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
(f) Reconnect the back door lock assembly connector.
(g) Reconnect front door courtesy light switch assembly connectors.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU)
(a) Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the D42 main body ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
(d) Reconnect the main body ECU connector.
(e) Reconnect the instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.
(b) Remove the main body ECU from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:

(d) Reinstall the main body ECU.
(e) Reinstall the instrument panel junction block assembly.
NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU Removal
