Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Testing and Inspection
SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: SPIRAL CABLE: INSPECTION
1. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) If there are any defects as mentioned below, replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with a new one:
* Scratches, cracks, dents or chips on the connector or the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.
NOTICE:
* Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.
* If there is a malfunction in the steering sensor, replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with steering sensor.
(b) Inspect the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.

(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
NOTICE:
To avoid breaking the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly, do not turn the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly more than necessary.
If the value is not within the specified range, replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.
Standard Resistance:
