B1500 - Fuel Sender Open Detected
DESCRIPTION
This DTC is output when the combination meter detects the fuel sender gauge malfunction via the CAN.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL RECEIVER GAUGE)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
(c) Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Active Test" Meter / Gauge System.
Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test:
OK:
Needle indication is normal.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FUEL SENDER GAUGE)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
(c) Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Active Test" Meter / Gauge System.
Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test:
OK:
Fuel value displayed on tester is approximately same as needle indication.
NG -- INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
3. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.
(b) Check that the float position is between E and F.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(d) Reinstall the fuel sender gauge assembly.
NG -- REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - FUEL SENDER GAUGE)
(a) Disconnect the C37 combination meter assembly connector.
(b) Disconnect the H13 fuel sender gauge assembly.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
(d) Reconnect the fuel sender gauge assembly connector.
(e) Reconnect the combination meter assembly connector.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
