Fig.3 Hitachi breakerless type distributor. Exploded view. Except Turbocharged engines.:

1. Remove cap and rotor, FIG. 3.
2. Remove vacuum controller retaining screws and controller assembly.
3. Disconnect wire with rubber seal from electronic control unit.
4. Drive pinion gear retaining pin out with suitable drift and hammer.
5. Remove pinion gear and thrust washers.
6. Remove pick-up coil base retaining screws.
7. Remove pick-up coil base, distributor shaft, and governor assembly.
8. Remove dust-proof packing from top of shaft.
9. Remove screw inside top of shaft.
10. Remove shaft and governor assembly.
11. Mark each part of governor assembly before disassembly to facilitate installation.
12. Reverse the procedure to assemble.
