An August 1982 production change in the front radiator panel requires that a condenser bracket kit, SOA 204 655, be used when installing a Subaru air conditioner, SOA 204 082, into an August 1982 or later production vehicle. Table 1 lists starting serial numbers for these vehicles.

The kit will fit all vehicles starting with the above serial numbers through the end of 1982 model year production.
A condenser bracket and two self tapping screws are included in each kit. See Figure 1.
The condenser bracket kit, SOA 204 655, is available by following normal parts department ordering procedures.
Install the condenser bracket as follows:
1. Lay the condenser on a clean workbench, with the two fittings facing up.
2. Install the condenser bracket with the two screws provided, using Figure 2 as a guide.
3. Install the condenser into the vehicle, so that the leg of the condenser bracket fits into the mounting hole. See Figure 3.
