Catalytic Converter: Testing and Inspection
If
tailpipe emissions are too high and all other systems including ignition, fuel and exhaust are working normally, then the catalytic convertor should be checked. Proceed as follows:
a. Remove the Three Way Catalytic Convertor and inspect for any damage or clogging. Any destruction of the internal material or clogging will reduce performance and the unit should be replaced.
