Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

I.Installation Tips For the Basic System

Note: The 10 amp clock/memory fuse located in the fuse box under the hood must be installed to activate the security system.

A. Module Mounting

The module must be mounted away from the vehicle wiring harness, connectors, etc. If the vehicle wiring harness is touching or pushing on the module it will act as a shock absorber, removing or diminishing shock vibrations which would normally activate the shock sensor feature of the security system.

Note: The shock sensor may need to be adjusted. Adjustments are made by rotating the potentiometer using a smll screwdriver. See the installation instructions provided in the kit for more details.

B. Vehicle Wiring Harness Connections

Using the Legacy Service Manual Publication Number G201BE Section 6-3 [0704], you will find the locations for the following connectors referenced in the installation instructions.

Connector Locator

Black 6 pin B-63
Black 11 pin B-66
Black 22 pin B-36 or 15

C. Valet Switch Installation

When installing the valet switch, be careful not to damage the dashboard area surrounding the dash pocket when prying on it to remove it.
