Drive Belt: Adjustments

Belt Tension:

1. Loosen tension pulley lock nut.
2. Turn adjusting bolt to change belt tension. Belt tightens when bolt is turned clockwise and vice versa.
3. When correct tension is obtained, torque lock nut to 25 - 33 ftlb (34 - 44 Nm).
4. To lock adjusting bolt, turn counterclockwise to torque of 2.9 - 4.3 ftlb (4 - 6 Nm).

NOTE: When installing a new belt, adjust to specification, run engine for 5 minutes, and readjust tension to compensate for initial stretch.
