Checking Fluid Level

1. With transmission fluid at operating temperature (140° to 176°F. Driving approximately 3-6 miles or 10 minute warm-up time), park vehicle on a level surface.
2. With engine idling and service and parking brake applied, move selector lever through all ranges and return to Park.
3. Allow engine to idle 1-2 minutes.
4. With engine idling, remove dipstick and check fluid level. Fluid level should be between the Add and Full marks.
5. Add Dexron II type automatic transmission fluid as necessary to bring level within limits.
