Compressor Clutch Relay: Testing and Inspection

A/C Cut Relay Testing:

The A/C cut relay does not set a trouble code in the on-board diagnostic system. It may be tested with an ohmmeter as follows:

Connector: Resistance:
1-2 Infinite
3-4 Approx 120 Ohms

Apply 12V across relay terminals #3 and #4 and check that relay "clicks." With relay energized in this manner, resistance across terminals #1 and #2 should be 0 Ohms.

Replace the relay if it does not meet these specifications.
