Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

1. Disarm SRS as described under Technician Safety Information.
2. Remove lower cover and lower cover panel, then disconnect air bag connectors AB3 and AB8 below steering column. Do not connect these connectors again until air bag control unit is securely installed.
3. Remove front console box.
4. Disconnect 12-pin yellow, two-pin blue and two-pin orange connectors from air bag control unit.
5. Using Torx bit, remove control unit bolts, then control unit.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new Torx bolts, then tighten to specifications.
b. After completing installation, arm SRS as described under Technician Safety Information.
