Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Evaporator Core

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Properly discharge A/C system.
3. Disconnect discharge and suction pipes and remove grommets from evaporator.
4. Remove undercover trim, if necessary.
5. Remove glove compartment, then the glove compartment support bracket, if necessary.
6. Remove time control unit, then disconnect fan control amplifier harness.
7. Disconnect electrical connector from evaporator.
8. Remove evaporator retaining bands or bolts, then the evaporator assembly.
9. Remove upper to lower evaporator case retaining bolts or clamps, then remove evaporator core from case.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
