Removal

REMOVAL
1. Remove related parts:
- Remove V-belts.
- Remove power steering pump.
- Remove alternator and V-belt cover bracket.
- Remove power steering pump bracket.
- Remove A/C belt tensioner bracket.
- Remove A/C compressor.
- Remove A/C compressor bracket.





2. Remove crankshaft pulley and belt cover:
- Remove pulley bolt. To lock crankshaft, use Special Tools.

Special Tools: Crankshaft Pulley Wrench (499977000) and Crankshaft Stopper (498497200)

- Remove crankshaft pulley.
- Remove left-hand belt cover.
- Remove right-hand belt cover.
- Remove front belt cover.





3. Remove timing belt:

Note: If alignment mark and/or arrow mark (which indicates rotation direction) on timing belt have faded away, put new marks before removing timing belt as follows:





- Turn crankshaft, and align alignment marks on crankshaft sprocket, and left and right camshaft sprockets with marks of belt cover and cylinder block.

Special Tool: Crankshaft Socket (499987500)





- Using white paint, put alignment and/or arrow marks on liming belts in relation to the sprockets.

- Align timing marks as described above.
- Loosen tensioner adjuster mounting bolts.
- Remove belt idler.
- Remove belt idler No.2.
- Remove timing belt.





4. Remove belt tensioner and idler:
- Remove belt idlers.
- Remove belt tensioner and spacer.
- Remove belt tension adjuster.
