Engine Torque Control
PURPOSE In order to reduce shift shocks and protect the transmission.
OPERATION During upshift, under heavy load, the ECU will reduce
ignition timing and close the induction valve. This reduces engine torque, reducing wear on the transmission and smoothing shift transitions.
