Idle Speed

^ Idle speed is not-adjustable. If the idle speed is not within specifications, proceed to DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROLS.

1. Start the engine and warm to operating temperature.
2. Ensure that the "CHECK ENGINE" light is OFF.
3. Check the idle speed with all accessories off and the steering wheel in the centered position.
4. Place the transmission in neutral or park.

NO LOAD IDLE SPEED
610 ± 100 rpm

5. Turn the A/C on for at least 1 minute (to stabilize engine speed).


A/C ON IDLE SPEED
With transmission in neutral
800 ± 50 rpm
With transmission in drive
700 ± 50 rpm
