Fillpipe Restrictor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Fasteners:

1. Completely drain fuel from tank.
2. Remove right rear tire.
3. Remove fuel filler cap.
4. Remove the three mounting screws.

Clamp:

5. Remove fuel filler pipe clamp and hose.

Fastener:

6. Remove fuel filler hose fasteners and air vent hose from fuel filler pipe.
7. Disconnect fuel filler pipe from underside of car.

INSTALLATION

Packing:

1. Hold fuel filler door open.
2. Insert filler pipe from the inner side, align the mounting screw holes and install screws.
3. If edges of rubber packing are folded toward the inside, straighten with a screwdriver.
4. Install fuel filler hose 25 to 30 mm (0.98 to 1.18 in) over lower end of filler pipe and tighten clamp. Ensure that clamps do not touch air vent pipe.
5. Install the air vent hose 25 to 30 mm (0.98 to 1.18 in) onto the lower end of the air vent pipe and tighten clamp.
6. Install fastener with fuel filler pipe. Check to make sure that hoses and clamps have adequate clearance.
