Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair

1. Disarm SRS as described under Technician Safety Information.
2. Remove lower cover and lower cover panel, then disconnect air bag connector at harness spool. Do not connect this connector again until control unit is securely installed.
3. Remove console panel and base on driver seat side, then the audio equipment.
4. Disconnect 12-pin yellow, two-pin blue and two-pin orange connectors from control unit.
5. Remove two nuts and bolts securing control unit bracket, then control unit and bracket as an assembly.
6. Using T30 Torx bit, remove control unit from bracket.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new Torx bolts, then tighten to specifications.
b. After completing installation, arm SRS as described under Technician Safety Information.
