Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disarm air bag system.
a. Disconnect negative battery cable.
b. Disconnect positive battery cable.
c. Wait at least 20 seconds before proceeding.
2. Remove right front floor mat.

ECM Protector:





3. Remove protector cover.

ECM Fasteners:





4. Remove ECM fasteners.
5. Remove ECM and disconnect harness.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect ECM to harness.
2. Position ECM and secure fasteners.
3. Install protector cover.
4. Reinstall floormat.
5. Connect positive battery cable.

WARNING: Make sure no one is inside the vehicle or near the air bag deployment module.

6. Connect negative battery cable.
