Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation

CLOSE OPEN OPERATION

Push the (OPEN/CLOSE) switch toward the OPEN position, and relay 2 will be energized to shift its contact from A to B, allowing the current to flow from the battery to contact B of relay 2 to circuit breaker (C/B) to motor to contact A of relay 1 to ground, and operating the sunroof motor to open the lid.

OPEN 150 mm (5.91 in) STOP POSITION OPERATION

Pushing the (OPEN/CLOSE) switch toward the CLOSE position will energize relay 1 to shift its contact from A to B, directing the current from the battery to contact B of relay 1 to motor to circuit breaker (C/B) to contact A of relay 2 to ground, and operating the sunroof motor to close the lid.

150 mm (5.91 in) STOP POSITION

As the glass lid reaches the point which is about 150 mm (5.91 in) this side of the fully closed position, the contact of relay 1 shifts from B to A and the motor is stopped. At the same time, the limit switch 3 is turned ON.

150 mm (5.91 in) STOP POSITION CLOSE OPERATION

Push the (OPEN/CLOSE) switch towards the CLOSE position again, and relay 1 will be energized to shift the contact of relay 1 from A to B, directing the current from the battery to contact B of the relay 1 to motor to circuit breaker (C/B) to contact A of relay 2 to ground and operating the sunroof motor to close the lid.

TILT UP OPERATION

Pushing the (UP/DOWN) switch toward the UP side will energize relay 1 to shift the contact of relay 1 from A to B and direct the current from the battery to contact B of relay 110 motor to circuit breaker (C/B) to contact A of relay 2 to ground to operate the sunroof motor for tilting up the lid.

TILT DOWN OPERATION

Push the (UP/DOWN) switch toward the DOWN position, and relay 2 will be energized to shift the contact of relay 2 from A to B and direct the current from the battery to contact B of relay 2 to circuit breaker (C/B) to motor to contact A of relay 1 to ground, operating the sunroof motor to tilt down the lid.
