Disassembly, Inspection and Assembly

DISASSEMBLY:

1. Remove distributor cap and rotor.
2. Remove module and pickup coil.
3. Remove vacuum advance retaining screw and snap washer, then the vacuum advance unit.
4. Remove two base plate retaining screws, then the base plate.

ASSEMBLY:

1. Position pickup coil base plate in distributor. Install four clips on base plate into four grooves of distributor housing.
2. Install vacuum advance unit.
3. Install pickup coil on base plate. Refer to ``Air Gap, Adjust'' procedure and adjust air gap. Tighten pickup coil screws.
4. Install igniter in distributor housing.
5. Install distributor rotor, cap and gasket.
