Identification of Affected Seat Belts
1. The only seat belts affected are the style of Takata seat belts shown. The campaign button kit part numbers and quantities per vehicle are as follows:
Sidekick and Samurai Button kit:
P/N # 849O8-60A00 Qty. 1
Swift Button kit:
P/N # 84908-60B00 Qty. 1
2. All Takata seat belts will have the Takata Identification mark and number (TK-523 or TK-524) on the bottom of the seat belt buckle.
NOTE:
If the seat belt you are working on DOES NOT look like these drawings or DOES NOT have the TAKATA logo... STOP...DO NOT PROCEED. The seat belt is NOT covered by this campaign.
2a. Check the bottom cover of the seat belt button for three (3) rectangular slots. If the slots are there; the campaign has already been done.
3. Check the lot number by pressing in the red latch release button and look for the lot standard number on the inside of the latch as shown. Use a flashlight if necessary.
3a. The lot standard number will start or end with a letter "K" or "T" and have four (4) additional digits. If the lot standard number in the buckle latch starts or ends with the "K or "T" and the first numerical digit is a 7, 8, or 9, go to REPLACEMENT.
If the lot standard number in the buckle latch matches the three (3) digits shown below, go to REPLACEMENT. The "T" or "K" may be at the beginning or end of the lot number.
