Tech-1 Diagnostics

The Tech-1 (scan tool) is used for following purposes.
- To read current and history diagnostic trouble codes.
- To clear all diagnostic trouble codes after a repair is completed.
- For execution of the "LAMP CLEAR" command to turn OFF the "AIR BAG" warning lamp after a crash when deployment was determined so that SDM is reset and made reuseable.
- For execution of the "LOCK CLEAR" command to clear the "Near Deploy Lock" after a crash when deployment was determined so that SDM is reset and mode reuseable.

NOTE:
- SDM cannot be reset (reused) after the air bag deployment was recorded twice.

- To read "voltage of ignition power" and "driver and passenger side resistance" recognized by SDM when the output command by using Tech-1 was inputted.

NOTE:
- The Tech-1 must be updated to communicate with the air bag system through a replaceable cartridge before it can be used for air bag system diagnostics. To use the Tech-1, change cartridge first, then connect it to the data link connector and turn the ignition switch "ON."

- Refer to the Tech-1 Operator's Manual for specific information on how to use the Tech-1.
