Ignition System: Service and Repair

IGNITION SPARK TEST

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect injector coupler.

WARNING: Without disconnection of injector coupler, combustible gas may come out from spark plug holes during this test and may get ignited in engine room.




2. Disconnect ignition coil coupler(s).
3. Remove ignition coil bolt(s), and then pull out ignition coil(s).
4. Remove spark plug(s).

INSTALLATION




1. Install spark plug(s) and tighten them to specified torque.

Tightening Torque
(a): 25 Nm (2.5 kg-m, 18.0 lb-ft)

2. Install ignition coil(s) securely.
3. Tighten ignition coil bolt(s), and then connect ignition coil coupler(s).

Tightening Torque
(b): 3 Nm (0.3 kg-m, 2.5 lb-ft)

4. Install ignition coil cover.
5. Connect injector coupler.
