Spark Plug: Service and Repair

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect ignition coil coupler.
2. Remove ignition coil bolt, and then pull out ignition coil.
3. Remove spark plug.

INSPECTION




Inspect them for:
- Electrode wear
- Carbon deposits
- Insulator damage




If any abnormality is found, adjust air gap, clean with spark plug cleaner or replace them with specified new plugs

INSTALLATION




1. Install spark plug and tighten them to specified torque.

Tightening Torque for Spark Plug
(a): 25 Nm (2.5 kg-m, 18.0 lb-ft)

2. Install ignition coil securely.
3. Tighten ignition coil bolt, and then connect ignition coil coupler.

Tightening Torque
(b): 3 Nm (0.3 kg-m, 2.5 lb-ft)

4. Install ignition coil cover.
