Knock Sensor Removal And InstallationKnock Sensor Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the VIS vacuum tank. Refer to "VIS Vacuum Tank". Service and Repair
3. Remove the wiring harness from the wiring support bracket.
4. Disconnect the knock sensor wiring harness connector.
5. Remove the knock sensor.
Knock Sensor Installation
1. Installation should follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.
2. Install the knock sensor.
Tighten:
Tighten the knock sensor retaining bolt to 18 ~ 20 N.m (13 ~ 15 lb.ft).
3. Install the VIS vacuum tank.
Tighten:
Tighten the VIS vacuum tank retaining bolts to 7 ~ 9 N.m (62 ~ 80 lb.in).
