EVAP Leak Check Module and Its Circuit Inspection
EVAP Leak Check Module and Its Circuit InspectionNOTE: For operation of EVAP leak check module, refer to EVAP Leak Check System Description:H27 Engine
EVAP Leak Check Pressure Sensor Circuit Check
1. Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2. Turn ignition switch to ON position, select "DATA LIST" mode on SUZUKI scan tool.
3. Check that displayed barometric pressure is specified value referring to "EVAP Leak Check Pressure Sensor Check" under EVAP Leak Check Module Inspection:H27 Engine.
If barometric pressure is within specified value, EVAP leak check pressure sensor and its circuit are in good condition.
If barometric pressure is out of specification, check EVAP leak check pressure sensor, wire harness and connections.
EVAP Leak Detecting Pump Circuit Check
1. Turn ignition switch to ON position, clear DTC and select "MISC TEST" mode on SUZUKI scan tool.
2. Using SUZUKI scan tool, check that operating sound of EVAP leak detecting pump is heard only when pump is switched ON.
If operating sound of EVAP leak detecting pump is heard, EVAP leak detecting pump and its circuit are in good condition.
If operating sound of EVAP leak detecting pump is not heard, check EVAP leak detecting pump, wire harness and connections.
EVAP Canister Vent Valve Circuit Check
WARNING: Do not suck the air through valve. Fuel vapor inside valve is harmful.
CAUTION: When checking EVAP canister vent valve, do not apply compressed air. Compressed air could damage EVAP leak check module and cause fuel vapor leaks.
1. Remove EVAP leak check module (1).
2. Connect connector to EVAP leak check module.
3. Check EVAP canister vent valve operation in EVAP leak check module as follows.
a. With ignition switch ON, blow breath (2) into port (3). Breath should come out of port (4).
b. Connect SUZUKI scan tool (1) to DLC (2) with ignition switch OFF.
c. Turn ignition switch to ON position, clear DTC and select "MISC TEST" mode on SUZUKI scan tool.
d. Check EVAP canister vent valve for operation when valve is switched ON by using SUZUKI scan tool.
In this state, blow breath (3) from port (4). Breath should not come out of port (5). If check results are as described above, EVAP canister vent valve and its circuit are in good condition.
If not, check EVAP canister vent valve, wire harness and connections.
