Rear

REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the shifting gear differential lock.





2. Remove the actuator protector by removing the 2 nuts, bolt and the protector.





3. Disconnect the connectors and the tube.





4. Remove the rear differential lock position switch.





5. Remove the cover by first removing the 3 bolts then, using a brass bar and hammer, remove the cover.
6. Remove the actuator by performing the following.





a. Remove the shift fork set bolt.





b. Remove the 4 bolts.
c. Using a screwdriver, pry out the actuator.

7. Install the actuator by performing the following procedures.
a. Clean contacting surfaces of any FIPG material using gasoline or alcohol.





b. Apply part No. 08826 - 00090, THREE BOND 1281 or equivalent FIPG to the actuator.

NOTE: Install the actuator within 10 minutes after applying FIPG.

c. Install the actuator to the differential and match the shaft with the shaft fork hole.
d. Clean the threads of the set bolt and shaft fork with the white gasoline.





e. Coat the threads of the set bolt with part No.08833 - 00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent adhesive.
f. Tighten the shift fork set bolt to 20 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).





g. Tighten the 4 bolts uniformly to 24 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) , a little at a time.

8. Install the cover by performing the following.
a. Clean the contacting surfaces of any FIPG material using gasoline or alcohol.





b. Apply Part No. 08826 - 00090, THREE BOND 1281 or equivalent FIPG to the cover.

NOTE: Install the cover 10 minutes after applying FIPG.





c. Tighten the 3 bolts to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).





9. Install the position switch with a new gasket and tighten to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).





10. Connect the connectors and tube

NOTE:
^ The depth of the insertion of the bleeder tube into the hose is approx. 15 mm (0.59 inch).
^ Take care that the water or the equivalent will not adhere to the connectors and hose.





11. Install the protector with the 2 nuts and bolt tightening the nut to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.) and the bolt to 20 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
12. With the ignition switch ON, turn the differential lock control switch to OFF to cancel the differential lock.
