DTC B1655/37 - Driver Side Seat Belt Buckle Switch Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt buckle switch LH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the front seat inner belt LH.
DTC B1655/37 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the seat belt buckle switch LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor and front seat inner belt LH.
OK:
The connectors are properly connected.

NG -- CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK CONNECTORS
(a) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the front seat inner belt LH.
(b) Check that the connectors (on the center airbag sensor side and front seat inner belt LH side) are not damaged Electronic Circuit Inspection Procedure.
OK:
The connectors are not deformed or damaged.

NG -- REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK FLOOR WIRE (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT LH)




(a) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(d) Turn the ignition switch off.
(e) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(f) Using a service wire, connect terminals 11 (DBE+) and 12 (DBE-) of connector B.

NOTE: Do not forcibly insert a service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting the wire.

(g) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





(h) Disconnect the service wire from connector B.
(i) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPLACE FLOOR WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK FRONT SEAT INNER BELT LH





(a) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor and the front seat inner belt LH.
(b) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(d) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
(e) Turn the ignition switch off.
(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(g) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
DTC B1655/37 is not output.

HINT: Codes other than DTC B1655/37 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

NG -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT LH
OK -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
5. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT LH
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Replace the front seat inner belt LH Removal.

HINT: Perform inspection using parts from a normal vehicle if possible.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR





(a) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(c) Clear the DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
(d) Turn the ignition switch off.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
(f) Check for DTCs DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
DTC B1655/37 is not output.

HINT: Codes other than DTC B1655/37 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

NG -- REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- END
