Cruise Control Switch Circuit
CRUISE CONTROL: CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM: Cruise Control Switch Circuit
- Cruise Control Switch Circuit
DESCRIPTION
This circuit sends a signal to the ECM depending on the cruise control switch condition. The battery supplies positive (+) battery voltage to the cruise control switch. Terminal 11 (CCS)*1 or 14 (CCS)*2 of the ECM receives the voltage which varies according to the switch condition.
* *1: for 1GR-FE
* *2: for 2TR-FE

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH)
(a) Use the Data List to check if the cruise control switch is functioning properly Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
Cruise Control
OK:
On screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
NG -- INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Replace the spiral cable sub-assembly Removal.
(b) If there are any defects as follows, replace the spiral cable sub-assembly with a new one: scratches, cracks, dents or chips on the connector or spiral cable sub-assembly.
(c) Check the spiral cable sub-assembly.
(1) Set the spiral cable sub-assembly to the center position Installation.
(2) Rotate the spiral cable sub-assembly 2.5 times clockwise and measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Then rotate the spiral cable sub-assembly 5 times counterclockwise and measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
NOTICE:
As the spiral cable sub-assembly may break, do not rotate the spiral cable sub-assembly more than the specified amount.
Standard Resistance:
(3) Set the spiral cable sub-assembly to the center position and rotate the spiral cable sub-assembly 2.5 times clockwise. Then, while rotating the spiral cable sub-assembly 5 times counterclockwise, measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE
(a) Disconnect the z9 spiral cable connector.
(b) Disconnect the z10 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH
(a) Remove the cruise control switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the F23 spiral cable connector.
(b) Disconnect the F50 ECM connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
for 1GR-FE
for 2TR-FE
Result
C -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
B -- REPLACE ECM Removal
A -- REPLACE ECM Removal
